Introduction

As well as all countries near Equator, altitude influence on the climate of Peru. In the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons are reversed in relation to the northern one. However, in Peru, this rule has some exceptions. To give you more information about the climate, we offer a comprehensive overview of the various regions, as well as data from major cities.

Lima

The Peruvian capital has a particular climate due to the Humboldt Current along the coast. During the winter (June to October), the city is covered with a dense fog that lingers very wet throughout the day to produce what is known as "Garua”. Due July and August have the coldest weather, we recommend to bring the appropriate clothes.
The spring runs from October to December. The day is warm at morning and cool at night.
From December to late March is summer: hot during the day and the evening is less warm. In January and February the temperature is higher. Yu will need clothes light enough for this season.

Finally, autumn lasts from April to June. The climate is temperate with garua possibilities.  During the night, the weather gets colder.  Generally, the rains are scarce in Lima, so the rain garments are not necessary.
